Legislation Aims To Warn Nursing Home Patients Of Sex Offenders

States are in the process of passing legislation that would be able to track a convicted sex offender who works in a nursing home, according to WMC TV 5 News in Memphis. Wes Bledsoe, founder of A Perfect Cause, is advocating the legislation. A Perfect Cause is a watchdog group that specializes in nursing home abuse. Texas Executes Sex Offender

The state of Texas executed a convicted sex offender and child murderer on November 16, according to CBS News. Guadalupe Esparza, 46, convicted of the child sexual assault and murder of a 7-year-old girl in San Antonio, asked for forgiveness before the Texas Department of Criminal Justice executed him via lethal injection. “I hope you will find peace in your heart,” Esparza said to the relatives of the victim before the injection. “My sympathy goes out to you. Six people pleaded guilty on November 16 for possession of drug and trafficking charges, according to News4Jax.com in Jacksonville. An investigation by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency and the Baker County Sheriff’s Office uncovered the drug ring, which transported cocaine from Houston to Florida. The criminals managed to net over $4 million in revenue since April 2010. “We should be rid of these people for a long time,” says Joey Dobson, Baker County Sheriff. Most of the major dealers are facing twenty years in prison at sentencing. The supply was traced back to a drug cartel in Mexico. The drugs were transported to Florida in cars—the car tires. “Even thought the group was creative, it was not enough to evade detection and arrest by the DEA and Baker County Sheriff’s Office,” Said DEA Agent Cam Strahm. Have you or a loved one been charges with a drug crime? Law Office…
