Judge Denies Sandusky Appeal, Orders Victims’ Identities to Be Revealed For Trial

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court rejected a request to delay the trial of former Penn State University assistant football coach, Jerry Sandusky, according to Fox News. Sandusky is facing child sexual assault charges after allegedly abusing 10 boys over a 15-year period while he was a coach at Penn State. As jury selection was set to begin, Sandusky’s attorneys requested a continuance, which was denied. A judge also ruled that the victims are prohibited from using pseudonyms and must use their real identities at trial. “Sex offenders continue their behaviors until they are caught and stopped, and the only way that we know who those people are is when victims are brave enough to come forward and tell us,” said Kristen Houser, spokeswoman for the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape. The infamous Westboro Baptist Church made their presence known in Dallas recently for the Ticket City Bowl Game when Penn State University faced the University of Houston at the Cotton Bowl, according to sources. Former Penn State assistant football coach Mike McQueary is testified that he heard former Penn State defensive coordinator rape and assault young boys, according to USA Today. Sandusky was indicted earlier this year on many child sexual assault charges dating from 1994-2008. District Judge William heard testimony from McQueary on December 16. He also ruled that Tim Curley and Gary Schultz can be charged for failing to properly report allegations against Sandusky. Attorneys for all men maintain their innocence. McQeuary testified that he believes he heard Sandusky having intercourse with a young boy, but admitted he could not be 100% sure. “I believe they were having some kind of intercourse,” he testified. “I know they saw me. They looked directly in my eye, both of them. I was distraught and horrified.” McQueary says he reported the incident to the athletic director (Curley) and university president (Schultz). “There is no question…
